I make the show I wished existed.
Alli, host of Wiser World.
I have loved studying the world since I was a little kid. I pursued education in global studies, earning a B.S. in Social Sciences Education with a Spanish teaching minor. I went on to teach 9th grade World History and Geography, and every day I got to leave my life and go explore the world with teenagers. I fell in love with the challenge of making complex history and global topics feel alive and accessible.
And yet, at every parent-teacher conference, parents told me they wished they could be a fly on the wall in my class. I quickly realized most adults had forgotten the material I was teaching the students, or had never learned it in the first place.
So, in 2022, I created this podcast for curious, busy, intentional people, who want to learn from history and connect with each other. I truly believe the more we study the world, the more we embrace our shared humanity.
If the show has a thesis, it's this: the present makes more sense when you know the past, and we all have more in common than we think.
